TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER
Overview
The Technical Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with Engineering, Sales and Marketing to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Projects & Responsibilities
- Prioritize development projects based on revenue potential, level of effort, and strategic importance
- Create product requirements documents (PRDs) of varying levels of detail to guide development work
- Work closely with the Engineering team to provide direction and feedback and to ensure that deliverables meet acceptance criteria
- Oversee development projects to ensure timely completion, including User Acceptance Testing process and release communication
- Be the point person for day-to-day communication with the Marketing and Sales teams
- Execute ad hoc data pulls to serve technology and operational business needs
- Perform analyses to drive ROI-based feature and product prioritization decisions
- Occasionally, help QA new products and features
- This position reports to the Director of Product Management
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a distributed development team within an Agile development environment
- Strong technical background with experience in Web technologies
- Solid understanding of Internet protocols, languages & frameworks, including HTTP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML
- Hands-on experience with SQL and databases
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet aggressive deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior teamwork skills
- Development experience preferred in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C/C++, .NET, ColdFusion, PHP
- Experience with user experience design and/or website usability is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management roles with performance marketing, online advertising, or Web application companies
- Bachelors degree in computer science, mathematics or other technical field (MBA is a plus)
